Blinn's Valorant team blanks Finger Lakes to finish regular season unbeaten

The Buccaneers' Valorant and Overwatch teams will compete in the NJCAA Esports national tournament next week

The Blinn College esports team earned a win in Valorant play Thursday, defeating Finger Lakes Community College 2-0 to finish the regular season 9-0.
“While we got a little sloppy in the second map, overall it was another clean win,” Blinn head coach Aaron Kapiko said. “With the regular season now coming to a close, we are excited to get into the NJCAA Esports playoffs undefeated and begin to make a real push towards a national title."
The starting lineup in the Bucs’ victory was Dylan Gerlach, Ziyad Khallaf, Hayden Miller, Chase Siragusa and Michael Pope.
Up next for Blinn’s Valorant squad are the NJCAA Esports playoffs, which begin Monday, April 18. The bracket for the 16-team tournament is expected to be revealed this weekend. Blinn’s Overwatch team has also qualified for the national tournament and begins play in an eight-team field on Friday, April 22.
