For the third time, the Brenham Police Department has been recognized as an Accredited Agency in the State of Texas.

The recognition came during the 2022 Texas Police Chiefs Association Conference.

The Accreditation Program is voluntary and requires the department to meet 170 Law Enforcement Best Practices.

The Practices were carefully developed by Law Enforcement Professionals to assist agencies in efficient delivery of service, the reduction of risk, and the protection of an individual’s rights.

The agency is put through a comprehensive in-person audit every 4 years by different Chief’s of Police from around the state of Texas, and a yearly online submission audit with proofs of compliance.

The Brenham Police were presented with the Accreditation during the conference by TPCA President Scott Rubin.

Accepting on behalf of the department were Brenham City Manager Carolyn Miller, Police Chief Ron Parker, Captain Dant Lange, and Sgt. Steven Eilert.
