ONE TRANSPORTED AFTER ROLLOVER ON HIGHWAY 290 BETWEEN BRENHAM, BURTON
One person was flown to an area hospital after a single-vehicle rollover Sunday afternoon on Highway 290, west of Brenham.
The accident was reported around 5:45 p.m. in the 7400 block of Highway 290 West, near Harrisburg Road. Washington County EMS advised there was one occupant trapped inside the vehicle.
The Brenham Fire Department arrived and found the rollover stopping the westbound lane of traffic.
Firefighters used extrication equipment to remove the driver-side door and free the victim. Units assisted EMS in loading the patient for transport.
Update @ 3:30 p.m.: The driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Aaron Burdick of Glen Rose, was flown to Del Seton Medical Center in Austin and is in stable condition.
The Berlin Volunteer Fire Department was called to aid with traffic control, as the highway was shut down in both directions for a short time.
