90TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION THURSDAY FOR LONGTIME AUTO DEALER GENE BOTHE

  

The 90^th birthday of a longtime auto salesman in Brenham will be celebrated on Thursday.

The public is invited to Tegeler Toyota at 1515 Highway 290 for a birthday blowout for Gene Bothe.  The celebration will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and will include refreshments, snacks, birthday cake and stories with Bothe and his family.

Bothe, Tegeler Toyota’s longest tenured employee, coined the phrase “There’s no deal like a Bothe deal.”  Bothe has sold farm equipment and vehicles since the 1950s, and in 1974 became the sole owner of Rankin Motors, which would be called Bothe Ford.  He owned the dealership for 12 years before selling to the Appel family.  In 1993, he began selling vehicles at Tegeler Toyota.
