BRENHAM CUBETTES BEAT NEW CANEY 3-2 TO WIN BI-DISTRICT SERIES 2-1

The Brenham Cubette Softball Team did it!  They defeated the New Caney Eagles 3-2 in game three of their bi-district playoff 2-1.

After falling behind 1-0, Avery Maurer came through with an RBI single that brought home Liliana Gonzales with the first Brenham run of the game to tie things at 1-1.

It would stay that way until the top of the 5th. Kaylie Rodriguez reached on an error, and then two batter later, Maurer unloaded a two run homer to put the Cubettes up 3-1.

New Caney got one more run in the bottom of the 6th to make it a 3-2 game going to the 7th.

In the bottom of the seventh, it would be Maurer again coming through with a game ending double play that sealed the victory.

The Cubettes improved to 23-9-2 on the season, and get ready to face Elgin in the Area Round of the playoffs.  We'll pass that information along as soon as we get it.
