SOMERVILLE HIRES BRENHAM’S PHILIP ROBERTS AS NEW HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

The Somerville Yeguas did not have to look very far to find their new Head Football Coach and Athletic Director.

Monday night, it was announced that Brenham Cub Offensive Coordinator Philip Roberts will be taking the job.

Roberts takes over for Cal Neatherlin, who left Somerville to become the new Head Coach   and Athletic Director at Corpus Christi Carroll High School.

He inherits a program that went 5-5 last season, and made the playoffs for the first time in four years.

Roberts currently resides in Brenham with his wife Katie, who is the Brenham Cubettes Head Softball Coach and Girls Athletic Coordinator.

They have two children, Emry and Cooper.

Brenham ISD sent out a tweet thanking Coach Roberts for his contributions to Brenham High School Athletics, and wishing him well at his new job.
