JUNIOR MAIFEST CORONATION FRIDAY NIGHT
The first of two Brenham Maifest coronation ceremonies is set for tonight (Friday).
The Junior Coronation begins at 7 p.m. at Fireman’s Park. Queen Talyn Sulik and King Evan Dippel will reign over the court of “Lights! Camera! Action!” Following the Junior Coronation, The Royal Dukes Band will perform on stage at 8:30 p.m.
The Senior Coronation will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at 7 p.m., coming after a full day of activities on the Maifestival grounds. Queen Moli Ragonis and King Blake Cutter Jones will reign over the court of “And the Award Goes to…Maifest 2022.”
The Maifest parade through downtown will kick off tomorrow’s activities at 10:30 a.m. KWHI will broadcast the parade live starting at 10 a.m., and will also livestream the parade on Facebook, sponsored by Mr. Gatti’s. After the parade, the festival grounds will open for dance performances, beer tasting, a home brew competition and live music from The Oompahs and The Seven Dutchman Orchestra. The Common Ground Band will perform after the Senior Coronation at 8:30 p.m.
The Mighty Thomas Carnival is open today from 4 p.m. to midnight and tomorrow from 11 a.m. to midnight.
Admission to the festival is free. Coronation tickets are only being sold online.
