BOND ELECTION DAY HAS ARRIVED
Today is the day for the Brenham ISD Bond Election and the Texas Constitutional Amendment Election.
Voters in the Brenham ISD will be going to the polls to vote on the school district’s $153.9 million bond. The bond issue is for the construction of a new Brenham Junior High School along with other district wide improvements.
There are also two amendments to the Texas Constitution on the ballot. Proposition One would cut property taxes for those who are disable or who are 65 or older. Proposition Two would raise the state’s homestead exemption from $25,000 to $40,000.
Polls opened up this morning at 7am, and will be open until 7pm tonight.
Precinct one voters can vote at the Washington County Events Center at the Fairgrounds. Precinct two voters can go to the Brenham VFW Hall. Precinct three voters go to the Nancy Carol Roberts Library. Precinct four voters can go to the Blinn College Student Center.
Early voting in the election closed this past Tuesday with 3,052 residents casting their ballots in the Texas Constitutional Amendment Election. Meanwhile, 2,942 people voted in the Brenham ISD Bond Election.
