TEXAS A&M AGRI-LIFE EXTENSION PROGRAM ON MAY 20

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is continuing their Multi-County New Landowner Education Program later this month.

This month’s program will be about Pond Management.  The meeting will be held on Friday, May 20, at 1:30pm at the Washington County Expo Sales Facility at 1305 East Blue Bell Road in Brenham.

The cost to attend the session is $20 per person.

This month’s session will allow attendees to learn about factors to consider when identifying a site and constructing a new pond.

Other subjects include aquatic vegetation management and control, fish stocking rates, and pond ecology.

Also, if you have a pond weed that you would like identified, the Extension Service said to please bring it, and they will be glad to identify it for you.

The Multi-County New Landowner Education Program is a series of seven informational meetings, seminars, and field days designed to make new landowners in Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington Counties of what type of agricultural enterprises are best for their property.

Participants in the program will hear from experts in a variety of fields in agriculture about the best management practices that can be implemented on their own property.
