BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES TWO NEW ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS

The Brenham School Board named 2 new assistant principals to Brenham High School at their noon meeting today (Monday).

Jessica Toliver and Dr. Adrian M. Woods were named as the assistant principals. Mrs. Toliver is currently serving as the Assistant Principal to the 9th-grade campus for Brazoswood High School. She has over 13 years of experience in education and has her Master's in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas Arlington. Dr. Woods previously served the district as an assistant principal at Brenham High School in 2019 and is currently an At Risk Assistant Principal to TOPS K-12 in Houston. He has over 17 years of experience in education and has his Doctorate in Education from the University of Houston.

In other action, the board approved amending the 2022-2023 school year calendar.  The new calendar reflects going to a 9 week grading period instead of 6 weeks, and switches graduation to a Friday night instead of Saturday night in case of bad weather.

The Board also approved switching to the ParentSquare as the district’s messaging system.  The new system will automatically covers all parents without them having to op-in to the system, as they had to do with the old system.  Parents can still op-out of the messages if they wish to do so.  Brooke Trahan, the District’s Communications and Community Engagement Specialist, said the new system will give much more information to the District on the backend.
