SPECIAL OLYMPICS TORCH RUN TO PASS THROUGH BRENHAM THURSDAY

Law enforcement officials from around the state will carry the Special Olympics torch through downtown Brenham tomorrow (Thursday) morning.

The torch run is taking place in preparation for this weekend’s Special Olympics Texas Summer Games, happening tomorrow through Sunday in San Antonio.

The torch run will start and finish at the Brenham Fire Department at 101 North Chappell Hill Street, and will begin at 8:40 a.m.

The route will take runners onto Sycamore Street across from the fire department, traveling west.  They will go right onto Cottonwood Street, then left onto Pahl Street, passing by First Baptist Day School.

From there, runners will head left onto North Market Street then right onto East Main Street.  They will then go left onto South Park Street and West Alamo Street before making right turns onto Garrett, Kerr and Mangrum Streets, passing the Early Childhood Learning Center.  They will conclude by turning onto South Chappell Hill Street and finishing back at the fire department.
