College Station finished in a third place tie with Magnolia West with identical 10-6 records. The Cougars had to win a one game playoff in order to get the number three seed in the Class 5A Region III playoffs. Their current overall record is 20-13.

The two teams are no strangers to one another as they have already faced off twice in district play with each team winning on the other's home field.

On April 19, College Station beat Brenham 6-5 at Fireman's Park in a game that the Cubs nearly came back and won. The Cougars were up 6-2 going into the bottom of the seventh inning, and the Cubs made a comeback with three runs, but just couldn't quite get the tying run across home plate.

On April 22, Brenham had a 4-1 lead at College Station, when the Cougars came back to tie it 4-4 in the sixth inning.  The game ended up going to the top of the 12th inning before the Cub offense exploded for six runs, and went on to win the game 10-4.

Brenham picked up a two game sweep over Montgomery in the Bi-District Round of the playoffs. The Cubs won the first game 6-5 and then also took the second game 2-1.

Then, they swept the Area Round series over Pflugerville Hendrickson last week 5-4 and 10-4. With those victories, Brenham is currently on a seven game winning streak.

College Station has seen both of their playoff matchups go to three games.  In Bi-District, the Cougars beat New Caney Porter 2-1, Porter won the second game 4-2, and the Cougars won the third game 7-6.

In the Area Round, Austin Anderson won the first game 6-5. College Station came back and won the second game 12-0.  The Cougars then took the third game 9-4 in nine innings.

The winner between Brenham and College Station moves on to the Region Semi-Finals next week against the winner of the Friendswood vs. Crosby series.
