There was a semi-pro baseball team in the 1980’s. The College Station Cardinals, coached by Jerry Miller. We were a powerhouse in the National Baseball Congress. Our home games were in Olsen Field. We traveled around the state to compete in cities like Abilene, Shiner, Victoria, New Ulm, etc. We became the regional champions and then competed in Kansas City. We lived the life of traveling players before movies like ” Bull Durham.” I am proud of what we achieved and the memories. Let us not forget the name: College Station Cardinals!
