SEALY FUNERAL HOME HEAVILY DAMAGED IN FIRE

  

A funeral home in Sealy suffered major damage in a fire early this (Friday) morning.

Firefighters were called just before 4:45 a.m. to the Knesek Family Funeral Chapel at 1140 Meyer Street.

According to Reid Brasher, firefighter with the Sealy Fire Department, units arrived to find heavy fire coming through the windows from the side of the building facing Meyer Street.  Brasher said the stage and several building components were burning.

Firefighters were at the scene for over four hours, returning to service shortly before 9:15 a.m.  Heavy damage was sustained throughout the building.

The fire is still under investigation, and a cause has not been determined.
