GAS PRICES HIT RECORD HIGHS

  

Rising gas prices in the Lone Star State are now breaking records.

According to the AAA Texas Gas Watch, the state’s average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $4.66.  That price is the highest mark ever recorded by AAA for Texas.

The price is 16 cents more than it was a week ago, and $1.91 more than at this time last year.

In Brenham, the average price of gas is $4.70, with a low of $4.49 and a high of $4.90.

Surveying the metropolitan areas in Texas, drivers in El Paso are paying the most on average at $4.86, while drivers in San Angelo are paying the least at $4.47.

The national average price for a gallon of unleaded fuel has hit $5 for the first time ever.  The price of $5 is 19 cents more than last week, and $1.93 more than where it was at this point a year ago.
