GIDDINGS EDC NAMES NEW DIRECTOR

  

The Giddings Economic Development Corporation has named its new director.

David Stedman was hired to fill the role formerly held by Tonya Britton, following her retirement in February.

Stedman, who currently lives in Grayson, Georgia, has over 25 years of experience in advertising and marketing.  Since 2010, he has been the CEO of Stedman & Associates, which focuses on new startup venture planning, economic development, governmental relations, branding, marketing, fundraising and corporate recruitment.

Stedman received a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 1973.  He served as the president and CEO of the Economic Development Alliance for Brazoria County from 2004 to 2008.  He then relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he would serve from 2008 to 2010 as director of the Economic Development for the Evermore Community Improvement District.

Stedman will start his new position in Giddings at the beginning of July.
