Washington County’s annual celebration of Juneteenth culminates this weekend.
The Washington County Historical Juneteenth Association (WCHJA) will host a community jubilee kick-off tonight (Friday) beginning at 6 p.m. at Fireman’s Park. The Brown Sugar Band will provide entertainment.
The kick-off leads into tomorrow (Saturday) morning’s parade through downtown Brenham and jubilee festivities.

The parade will end around noon, at which time the public can make its way to the jubilee at Fireman’s Park to shop at vendors, play games, and enjoy more music and family-friendly activities. The jubilee will end at 5 p.m.
KWHI will have a live broadcast from the Juneteenth parade beginning at 10:30 a.m. on AM 1280, FM 101.7 and kwhi.com.
