TWO ARRESTED FOR DRUGS, WEAPONS AFTER FAYETTE CO. TRAFFIC STOP

Two people face drug and weapon possession charges after a traffic stop Tuesday in Fayette County.
Just after noon, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office stopped a 2012 Dodge dually traveling westbound on I-10 for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the vehicle’s occupants, the responding officer detected the odor of marijuana and discovered a black handgun in the driver’s door and a GPS monitor on the leg of the driver.
Authorities searched the vehicle after the driver was found to be wanted for a parole violation on an original charge for Robbery. The search turned up marijuana, 100 grams of green Xanax bars and three handguns.
56-year-old Logan Scott Shook and 34-year-old Ashley Kristin Mills Herbert, both of San Antonio, were arrested and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center. Shook was charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Possession of Marijuana and the parole violation for Robbery. Mills Herbert was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

Two others in the vehicle were released at the scene.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Flatonia Police Department.
