The American Legion Quade-Werchan Post #338 and Ladies Auxiliary have their regular meeting scheduled for this Thursday.

The start time has been moved up to 6:30pm at their facilities located at 1503 North State Highway 237 in Round Top.

Thanks to the recently passed LEGION Act, Congress expanded the current membership eligibility period to cover December 7, 1941 to the present and includes the current war campaigns.

Previously, there were seven declared war periods.

Now, there are two, the current war period dating back to World War II, and another war era covering World War I.

All veterans in the Round Top-Carmine, Burton, La Grange, and Giddings area are encouraged to join.

At Thursday’s meeting, the post will review updated financial information, review progress with the newly formed American Legion 19^th District of Texas, and continue discussions related to celebrating the 100^th anniversary of the post in conjunction with Veteran’s Day.
