WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO CONSIDER CONSTRUCTION BID FOR PECAN GLEN
A bid for the Pecan Glen Road District rehabilitation project will potentially be accepted at Tuesday’s Washington County Commissioners meeting.
Three bids were submitted for the project, with the lowest being Schrader Construction Company for $741,915.
In May 2021, Pecan Glen voters approved the issuance of up to $950,000 in bonds to improve roads in the Pecan Glen subdivision.
The first-year ad valorem tax rate on residents of the subdivision is $0.1500 per $100 valuation. The tax only applies to residents who live within the road district’s boundaries.
Also on Tuesday, commissioners will consider appointing the tax assessor-collector chief appraiser to calculate the no-new-revenue tax rate and the voter-approval tax rate. They will also vote on the purchase of two used pickup trucks from LaRoche for the county’s maintenance department.
In other items, commissioners will:
- Present service awards to Washington County employees with 10 and 15 years of service.
- Consider the appointment of Wendy Bethany to the Washington County Historical Commission for a term ending December 31, 2022.
- Consider approval of a proposal for professional engineering services related to the Texas Community Development Block Grant project along Old Plantation Road.
- Discuss a formal notice from PGMS – Chappell Hill Water Supply Company for a two-inch road bore for a one-inch service line on Chadwick Hogan Road in Precinct 2.
- Discuss a formal notice from PGMS – Central Washington County Water Supply for a two-inch road bore for a one-inch service line on North Berlin Road in Precinct 3.
- Discuss a formal notice from AT&T Texas for underground fiber cable within county right-of-way on Chadwick Hogan Road in Precinct 2.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
Warning Crosswind Estates north of town will be the next. Cheap half install of roads are already in bad shape & should be fixed on builder of this new subdivision dime.
