Waller ISD has announced the hiring of Jamie Woodall to be their new Executive Director of School Safety.

Woodall has had a 17-year career in public education, and most recently served as Director of Health and Safety for Brenham ISD. She was also the head athletic trainer, and led the district’s CO-VID 19 Response Team.

Woodall has a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University and a Masters’ Degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Prevention Programs in School Safety from the University of North Texas.

She has been recognized at both the state and national levels for her important work to build school health and safety measures.

In her new role, Woodall will lead planning and collaboration efforts amongst Waller ISD and first responder agencies throughout the district to enhance preventative measures and preparations in the event of an emergency.

She is going to be working closely with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers, district and campus leaders, nurses, athletic trainers, counselors, and officials from Harris County, Waller County, the City of Waller, the City of Prairie View, the Rosehill Fire Department, the Tri-County Fire Department and more.

Woodall led work in Brenham ISD and Bryan ISD to earn the national Safe Sport Award, and she plans to do the same with the Waller ISD training staff.

Woodall said that she is excited to join the Waller ISD family and build a culture of school safety.

She added, “Safety is a collaborative effort amongst everyone in our schools. We have to plan and coordinate with response agencies, make sure our staff and students have the best training and tools, and ensure our parents and families know we have a solid plan in place.”

  1. And another district professional leaves Brenham ISD for another local school district. Rather embarrassing to say the least! This has been a tragic year of departures of teachers and admin. staff. Why is it that BISD cannot retain competent teachers and professional staff. From those inside the district, there is “a train wreck coming”. Well,, I guess the oldest public school may not be the “best” public school. Those who disagree should follow the evidence!
