BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS INFRASTRUCTURE MANUAL AT NEXT MEETING

The Brenham City Council is scheduled to hear a presentation on the City of Brenham’s Infrastructure Design Manual at their next meeting.

The Public Infrastructure Design Manual would enforce the quality of professional design standards and materials used for the construction of public infrastructure, such as the water utility and road network within the City of Brenham.

The goal of the manual is to ensure that construction within the city, whether by private developer or in-house City crews is consistent, cost effective, maintainable, and protects public safety.

The City Council had heard a previous presentation on the new manual during their retreat back in February.

The staff has made some additional changes, and will be providing council members with an update on the manual.

Following direction from the Council, the proposed Public Infrastructure Design Manual will be scheduled for a review and action at the September 1 Council meeting.

In other items on the council’s agenda:

Chief Ron Parker will be giving an update on the Brenham Police Department.

The council is also going to hear a presentation on the City’s third quarter financial report.

They are also going into executive session to discuss a lease agreement between the City of Brenham and Washington County for the Communications Facility at 301 North Baylor Street.

The Brenham City Council meets on Thursday at 1pm in their Chambers at the Brenham City Hall.
