Former Brenham Cubette Teaira McCowan has helped the Dallas Wings make it to the first round of the WNBA Playoffs.

McCowan was traded to Dallas during the offseason after spending the first three years of her career with the Indiana Fever.

McCowan is averaging 11 points and a team high seven rebounds per game.

After not playing much in the early part of the season, McCowan has been a big part of the Wings' offense since July 1.

McCowan's playing time went from 5-15 minutes per game to 25-35 minutes per game.  She had a season high 27 points against the Washington Mystics on July 28. Her highest rebound total came on August 4 against the Las Vegas Aces where she grabbed 16 of them.

She scored 24 points and had 8 rebounds in the season finale against the Los Angles Sparks this past Sunday.

The Dallas Wings finished 18-18, which was good for 3rd place in the Western Conference and the #6 seed in the playoffs.

Dallas will open up the playoffs against the #3 seed Connecticut Sun tonight (Thursday) at 7pm.
