WASHINGTON CO. ENTERS INTO AGREEMENT TO PERFORM ROAD REPAIRS IN BURTON

County Engineer Wesley Stolz meets with Washington County Commissioners on Tuesday to review the details of an interlocal agreement between Washington County and the City of Burton for road improvement services.

Washington County has approved an agreement to upgrade roads in Burton.

County Commissioners at their meeting today (Tuesday) entered into the agreement with the City of Burton.  The county will supply labor and equipment up to $15,000 for projects along Texas, Burton, San Marcos, Railroad, North Brazos, North Colorado, Navasota and South Main Streets.  The city will reimburse the county for all materials, labor and equipment costs over $15,000.

County Engineer Wesley Stolz said the county has done agreements such as this before to provide road improvement services.

Stolz said the work primarily involves patching up streets that have pot holes, with a few other jobs requiring the installation of road base and the application of chip seal or hot mix asphalt.  He believes the work can be completed prior to the cold season coming in.

  1. So they can help other counties but when it comes to Mt falls school rd in Washington they have completely abandoned any form of road maintenance. Guess when the county is getting sand from the sand pit that has destroyed our road there’s nothing to be done about it. We all appreciate the washboard gravel road that replaced our paved road, the dust of unknown substance from speeding truckers is such a pleasure as well.

  2. Great for Burton. How about Mr Stolz comes and drives down Kuykendall rd and sees the. Condition of the road the one bridge approach is so much of a drop off that a small car will tear off their bumper

  3. I hope they do a better job than they did on Chadwick Hogan Rd. That is the poorest excuse of road work, I have ever seen. What a waste of tax dollars.
