COLORADO CO. FAIR BEGINS THURSDAY

The 44th Annual Colorado County Fair gets underway today (Thursday) in Columbus.

Today through Saturday, the Colorado County Fairgrounds will host activities such as livestock judging, the Heart of America Carnival, a parade, rodeo action, a car show, a petting zoo, a cornhole tournament and a barbecue cook-off.  The theme for the fair this year is “Neon Lights & Country Nights”.

Today is Senior Citizens Day and School Day, offering free entry for guests over 65 and school children.  It is also Tejano Day, with DJ Pana and Los Tercos performing tonight.

Tomorrow’s (Friday) entertainment will be the Best of Colorado County and Hayden Baker.

Taking the stage on Saturday will be the Black Cat Choir, the Brown Sugar Band, the Texas Dream Band and LANCO.

At the fair queen pageant this past Saturday, Carina Alonso was named the 2022 Colorado County Fair Queen.  Brooklyn Eden was named Membership Queen and Mariah Coufal was Junior Queen.  Junior Miss was Avielle Queen, while the Little Mister and Miss were Jagher Peikert and Sadie Awtry.
