BRENHAM POLICE MAKE SEVERAL WEEKEND DRUG POSSESSION ARRESTS

Brenham police report multiple drug possession arrests over the weekend.

Around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Ashley Burns responded to the 800 block of West First Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle.  Upon arrival, a probable cause search of the vehicle revealed that the back seat passenger, 19-year-old Marvin Beasley of Converse, was in possession of a controlled substance.  Beasley was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday, Officer Eric Crosby stopped a vehicle for expired registration at the intersection of Prairie Lea Street and West Fifth Street.  Upon investigation, 24-year-old Michael O’Riley of Brenham was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a municipal warrant for Failing to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

Also on Sunday, police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Prairie Lea Street and West Fifth Street for an equipment violation.  During the course of the investigation, officers established probable cause and searched the vehicle and its occupants.  18-year-old Alexis Lynn Rodriguez of Bryan was cited for Possession of Marijuana under 2 oz, while 18-year-old Jeremiah Howard of Humble was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
