SEALY POLICE ARREST THREE PEOPLE AFTER A TRAFFIC STOP
A traffic stop in Sealy led to three people getting arrested in a motel parking lot on Friday.
A member of the West Side Narcotics Task Force encountered a reckless driver coming east into Sealy on Interstate 10.
With the assistance of Sealy Police, the vehicle was pulled over into the parking lot of the Country Side Inn Motel at 2021 Highway 36 South.
Officers made contact with the driver, John Johnson III, and after running a background check, found out that he had a warrant for his arrest.
The warrant was out of the state Pardon and Parole Department for Felon Possession of a Firearm.
After his arrest, officers conducted a search of Johnson’s vehicle, and found two firearms, as well as 35 grams of methamphetamines.
While assisting with the arrest, Sealy Police detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle parked next to Johnson’s.
After conducting a probable cause search, police arrested the occupants, Leon Williams III and Destiny Bailey.
Both were charged with possession of methamphetamine less than one gram.
