PRELIMINARY FALL ENROLLMENT AT BLINN UP OVER LAST YEAR

Enrollment at Blinn College for the fall semester has increased over last year, according to preliminary figures presented to the Blinn Board of Trustees today (Tuesday).

Vice Chancellor for Student Services Dr. Becky McBride shared that as of Monday, September 12th, Blinn’s unofficial fall enrollment was 17,255 students, a 2.52 percent increase from the same time period last year.  This included a 3.08 percent increase in contact hours, which is included in the formula to determine state funding.

Preliminary enrollment numbers include:

  • 6,614 students on the Bryan Campus, an increase of 7.68 percent from 2021;
  • 3,463 online students, a decrease of 18.67 percent, as more classes are being offered on campus;
  • 3,047 students on the RELLIS Campus, a 10.76 percent increase;
  • 2,071 students on the Brenham Campus, up 13.6 percent;
  • 1,827 high school dual-credit students, up 14.69 percent;
  • 64 students on the Schulenburg Campus, down 5.88 percent;
  • 43 students on the Sealy Campus, an increase of 13.16 percent.

Dr. McBride said certified fall 2022 enrollment numbers will be presented to the board in December.

Registration remains open for fall 12-week classes that begin Monday, September 26th; 8-week classes that begin on Monday, October 24th; and 4-week classes that begin Monday, October 17th, and Monday, November 14th. Registration for winter minimester and spring classes open for current students at 9 a.m. on Monday, October 10th, and for all students at 9 a.m. on Monday, October 17th.

McBride also shared with the board that 1,491 students are residing in on campus housing on the Brenham Campus, an increase of 225 compared to last fall.  The campus opened the new Prairie Lea Hall in August.  Registered students can still apply for housing for upcoming terms at www.blinn.edu/housing.
