WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO VOTE ON HIRING NEW HR DIRECTOR
Washington County will potentially hire a new human resources director when county commissioners meet on Tuesday.
The court will consider whether to authorize the county judge to hire Angela Mlcak as the human resources director.
Afterwards, commissioners will act on the contract between the county and former human resources director, Teresa Sazedj, for human resources consultation services not to exceed $9,000.
Sazedj resigned as the human resources director on June 30th for family reasons, but agreed in July to provide services to the county on a contract basis until it filled the vacancy.
Also on Tuesday, commissioners will take up a revised agreement between Washington County E-911 and Blinn College for emergency communication dispatching authority. In addition, they will look at a right of way permit and mass gathering permit for the Scarecrow Festival in Chappell Hill October 8th and 9th.
In other action, commissioners will consider:
- A proclamation declaring October 2-8 as National 4-H Week in Washington County.
- A contract from Ageint Security for jail security cameras at the Washington County Jail.
- Approval of the Statewide Automated Victim Services (SAVNS) maintenance grant contract between the county and the Office of the Attorney General (OAG). The court will then vote to approve the participating entity services agreement for SAVNS.
- Appointing Stephanie Jarvis to the Washington County Historical Commission.
- The purchase of an annual subscription for Unifi Identify, an Identify-as-a-Service (IDaaS) platform.
- Approval of replacement appointment for election judges and alternates.
- A presentation from the Washington County Extension Service on the quarterly impact report.
- Monthly reports from the emergency management coordinator, county and district clerks, justices of the peace, auditor, tax assessor-collector, treasurer, constables and elections department.
- Changing the next commissioners court meeting from Tuesday, October 4th to Monday, October 3rd due to the county judge and commissioners attending a conference.
Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
