Navasota Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a shooting incident on Sunday afternoon.

Police received reports of shots being fired around 12:20pm in the 700 Block of West Virginia Street in Navasota.

Within several minutes, officers arrived on the scene and detained three male subjects.

Navasota Patrol Officers and Investigators located evidence and interviewed several witnesses.

It was determined that two suspects at a residence on West Virginia Street began arguing with at least two victims that were in the area.  The two suspects chased the victims and fired several rounds in their direction.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators interviewed the suspects and obtained a confession that the individual fired a weapon toward the victims.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the residence and seized three pistols and a shotgun. One of the firearms was discovered to be reported stolen.

21-year-old Desentze Brooks of Hempstead was arrested for two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, which is a second-degree felony.  Brooks was also arrested for five outstanding Class C warrants.

The second suspect was identified as a juvenile and was detained by Grimes County Juvenile Services. The suspect was later sent to a juvenile detention center in Montgomery County.

Additional charges are pending the outcome of a further investigation into the case.
