La Grange ISD’s new Elementary School building is one of the projects that got selected for the 2022-2023 Exhibit of School Architecture.

La Grange Elementary was one of 55 projects chosen by the Texas Association of School Administrators and the Texas Association of School Boards.

The Exhibit of School Architecture features new and renovated Texas school facilities from 36 school districts and two colleges that were submitted by 16 architectural firms.

To be eligible, a facility must be either newly constructed or renovated within the past five years, and not have already been submitted in a previous year.

La Grange Elementary was chosen in the category of “Community.”

To be chosen for a “Community” award, the project must be one that “enhances or embraces the community’s culture and diversity giving consideration to its identity, community context, sense of place, and/or overall purpose and importance of the facility to the community at large.”

Award winners are chosen by a 12-member jury that include four school board members, four school administrators, and four members from the Association for Learning Environments.

The Exhibit of School Architecture was showcased as part of the 2022 TASA/TASB Convention in San Antonio this past weekend.
