The life of Contessa “Tessa” Clae Shive is being remembered through the Tessa Shive Memorial Scholarship Fund.  It will be used to give a variety of scholarships over the years to honor the age Tessa would be in that year.

Tessa died in an accident on September 21st on FM 39, about one mile north of Iola.  She was 13 years old.

Tessa’s mother, Kara Shive, said in a Facebook post that she and her family are extremely grateful for all of the support they have received from Iola ISD and the community.

A family assistance fund has also been created to help the family with medical bills; counseling for Tessa’s siblings, two of whom were in the accident with her; counseling for her parents; and other financial needs of the family.  Through the Kailee Mills Foundation, the immediate funeral needs have been met for the family.

To donate to the scholarship fund or family assistance fund, visit www.firsttouchfamily.org.  There is also a tribute page for Tessa at www.noblesfuneral.com.

Iola ISD held a celebration of life service this (Wednesday) morning in the high school gym in honor of Tessa.
