TEXAS RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL OPENS ON SATURDAY

  

The 48th Annual Texas Renaissance Festival opens in Todd Mission starting tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 9am.

The Renaissance Festival runs every weekend from October 8 thru November 27 from 9am-8pm each day.

The theme for this weekend is Oktoberfest.  Journey back in time to old Bavaria as the King and Queen open the festival season with a celebration.

They will also have a costume contest and a bratwurst eating contest.

Other themes this year include 1001 Dreams, Pirate Adventure, All Hallows Eve, Heroes and Villains, Barbarian Invasion, Highland Fling, and wrapping it up with Celtic Christmas.

The Texas Renaissance Festival welcomes over 500,000 guests annually.  They have over 400 on-site shops.

The Festival has over 20 stages featuring 50 world renowned performers, musicians, and dancers.

New acts this year included Les Jesterson who is a juggler, clown, comic, and storyteller. There is also music featuring the Minstrel Rav’n, and stage shows featuring the Chaste Treasures and the Tease of the Seas.

Food and drinks with a 16th century theme will be served as well.
