SAFETY AND SECURITY COMMITTEE DISCUSSES INTRUDER AUDIT

The Brenham ISD Safety and Security Committee met Thursday afternoon.  The meeting was led by Brenham ISD’s Director of Safety and Security, Jay Huffty, and the committee is mostly made-up of local law enforcement administration.  The last time it meet was May of this year.  The committee went over the different threats to a campus and the Standard Response Protocols to those threats.  They include an outside threat lockout, an inside threat lockdown, an evacuation, a shelter in place, and a student and staff hold.  The committee then went into executive session to discuss the recent intruder audit and other items dealing with school safety.  Jay Huffty explained the reason for the executive session was not to hide from the public what they are discussing, but to keep items having to do with school safety confidential.
