BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE PRESENTING ‘THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG’ FRIDAY-SUNDAY

Brenham High School Theatre will stage a performance this weekend that promises to leave audiences aching from laughter.

“The Play That Goes Wrong” will run tomorrow (Friday), Saturday and Sunday at the Brenham High School Auditorium.  The show was originally scheduled to begin tonight (Thursday), but was moved to tomorrow due to the Cub football game being rescheduled for tonight.

The comedy is about a fictitious theatrical company putting on a play, and a plethora of disasters that befall the cast.  The disasters include doors sticking, props falling from the walls, misplaced props, actors forgetting lines, and floors collapsing.

The play was written in 2012 by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields.  It originated in the United Kingdom and has since made its way to the United States, where it ran on Broadway from 2017 to 2019.  It won Best New Comedy at the 2015 Laurence Olivier Awards.

Show times are 7 p.m. tomorrow, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
