The Brenham Cub Football Hall of Honor welcomed four new members into their ranks before a packed house at the Blinn College Student Center this (Friday) afternoon.

Former Cub Coach and Hall of Honor Member Charlie Matejowsky served as the Master of Ceremonies.

Michael Watts

Coach Jerry Newman introduced the first inductee, current Brenham Junior High School Principal Michael Watts.

Watts thanked his family for their support. During his speech, he discussed the many people that influenced him.  One of the people he singled out was his former Coach Mark Elam.

Hall of Honor Selection Committee Member Delbert Boeker introduced Luke Poehlmann.  He discussed his parents moving to Brenham so he could be part of the Brenham Cub experience. Poehlmann also reflected on his time as a Cub football player.

Lamont Roberts

Former Cub runningback Lamont Roberts was introduced by Hall of Honor Selection Committee Member Val Kieke. Roberts thanked his family members, many of whom were in attendance. He also recognized his former teammates, and talked about their friendships.

Craig Agnew

The final inductee was former Brenham Cub Defensive Coordinator Craig Agnew.  He was introduced by his former boss and longtime friend, Former Cub Head Coach Glen West.

Agnew took time to thank the Hall of Honor Selection Committee Members for their continued support of Cub Football.

The crowd in attendance was made up of former players and coaches, as well as longtime fans. The Hall of Honor inductions have been held every year since 1999 with the lone exception being in 2020, because of CO-VID.
