TURN THE CLOCKS BACK: STANDARD TIME RETURNS SUNDAY

Daylight Saving Time comes to an end this weekend, meaning everyone will “fall back” an hour.

Standard time returns at 2 a.m. Sunday, so for many, an extra hour of sleep is in store.  The change to standard time also means an earlier sunrise and sunset.

While most electronic devices will adjust to the new time automatically, people should make sure all of their clocks are synced up.  It is also a good time to change the batteries for smoke alarms.

Standard time is observed in the Northern hemisphere from the first Sunday in November to the second Sunday in March, when Daylight Saving Time comes back.

In March, the U.S. Senate passed a bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent, but the measure is stalled in the House.
