Brooke Bentke sets school records for career kills

The Brenham Cubettes are going to the Regional Tournament after defeating the Georgetown Lady Eagles earlier tonight (Tuesday).

Brenham won the match in a three set sweep.  They took the sets 25-20, 25-9, and 25-12.

Brooke Bentke surpassed the All-Time Kill record for the Cubettes during the game.

Brooke Bentke had a milestone stone night as she broke the school record for career kills. Coming into the match she needed ten, and she finished with 14.  The previous record holder was Jessica Weynand with 1,801 kills, and Bentke is now at 1,805 kills.

Bentke also had eight digs and five aces in the match. Also helping the Cubettes get the victory:

  • Charli Crowson

    Sienna Kelm - 12 digs

  • Kristen Kuehn - 12 digs
  • Charli Crowson - 20 assists, 6 kills, and 8 digs
  • Averi Frazier -  11 assists
  • Destanee Cooper - 6 kills

The Cubettes improve to 36-12 on the season. They extended their winning streak to 11 in a row, and have won 17 out of their last 18 matches.

Brenham now faces Manvel in the Region Semifinals on Friday at 7pm at the Merrell Center in Katy.  Manvel upset Barbers Hill 3-2.
