BURTON PANTHERS TO FACE MILANO IN BI-DISTRICT

After having a rare bye week on the final Friday of the regular season, the Burton Panther Football Team is ready to get back to work tonight (Friday).

The Panthers open the 2022 playoffs with a Bi-District game against the Milano Eagles. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm at Caldwell High School.

The two teams are no strangers to each other. They have faced each many times over the years in district, non-district, and playoff games.

Burton Head Coach Jason Hodde talked about the rivalry.

Burton is 9-0 on the season and won the District 14-2A Division II Championship with a perfect 6-0 record.

Burton's offense led by a potent rushing attack from Tyrone Gilmon, Pierson Spies, Delvin Gantt, and Chad Schubert that averages 39 points a game.

They also have a stingy defense that gives up only 13 points a game.

Milano is 6-3 on the season and finished 4th in a tough District 13-4A Division II. Their only losses were to the three teams that finished in front of them in district; Chilton, Granger, and Bremond.

They have their own three headed rushing attack featuring Seniors Josh Millar, and Ethan Gordon, along with Sophomore Andres Ruelas.

The Eagles average 30 points a game while giving up only 16 points a game.
