CUBS BEAT DAYTON 42-28 TO WIN BI-DISTRICT

The Brenham Cub Football Team exorcised some demons from the past by winning the Bi-District Championship over Dayton 42-28 last (Friday) night at Cub Stadium.
Rylan Wooten got the scoring start with 17 seconds left in the first quarter by finding Ian Stelter for a 25 yard touchdown pass to make it 7-0 Cubs.
Dayton would tie it in the second quarter on a 22-yard touchdown run by their quarterback, Carson Horton, to make it 7-7 at the 8:59 mark.

Rylan Wooten had an eight yard touchdown and a 13 yard run, which made it 21-7 Brenham at halftime.
Wooten opened the third quarter with a 32 yard touchdown run to make it 28-7 at the 8:41 mark.
Then with 2:43 left in the third quarter, Ricky Brown punched it in from three yards out to make it 35-7 Cubs.
Bronco Runningback Vernon Harrison would score on a three yard run to cut the Cubs lead to 35-14 with 28 seconds left in the quarter.
Harrison opened the fourth quarter with an 11 yard touchdown run at 10:49 to make it 35-21.
Jaylen Ward would put the exclamation point on the game with a six yard touchdown run at 3:39 to make it 42-21.
Dayton got one last touchdown on an eight yard pass from Horton to Jaxon Day with 1:04 left in the game to make it 42-28, but that would be as close as they would get.
Next up, the Cubs move on to the Area Round of the Playoffs, where they will face Belton. The game will be next Friday, November 18, at 7:30pm at Merrill Green Stadium in Bryan.
