AREA ROUND PREVIEW: BURTON PANTHERS VS. ROCKSPRINGS ANGORAS
The Burton Panthers are getting ready for the Area Round of the playoffs. They will face the Rocksprings Angoras tonight (Friday) at 7pm at Johnson City High School. KWHI will have live coverage beginning with pregame at 6:30pm on the KWHI.com Sports Alternate Feed and the KWHI app.
Burton is coming off of a 46-0 win over Milano last week that improved their record to 10-0 this season. It was also the Panther defense's third shutout this year.
Burton is the District 14-2A Division II Champion. They are led by a deep runningback squad that includes Delvin Gantt, Tyrone Gilmon, Pierson Spies, and Chad Schubert.
Coach Jason Hodde gave a scouting report on Rocksprings.
Rocksprings were the runners-up from District 15-2A Division II. Last week, they defeated Agua Dulce in the Bi-District Round 50-20.
That win snapped a two game losing streak by the Angoras. They finished up the regular season with a 20-14 loss to District Champion Sabinal.
