The Snook School Board has officially removed the interim tag, and voted unanimously Monday night to hire Tyler Cruzen to be the new principal at Snook Elementary School.

Cruzen was originally hired to be the assistant principal, but had been the interim principal after Christi Everett had left the school district earlier this year.

In addition to assistant principal and now principal, Cruzen has also been a teacher and a coach.

According to a post on the Snook ISD Facebook page, Cruzen has extensively supported students with academic and behavior challenges.

In addition to that, he has supported teachers in meeting and exceeding the needs of their students, while also bringing instructional leadership and campus leadership experience.

Prior to getting into public education, Cruzen served in the military as a Non-Commissioned officer obtaining the rank of Sergeant.

Cruzen was deployed to combat zones from 2005-2007 where he directly supervised, trained, and evaluated a platoon of 25 soldiers along with other Non-Commissioned officers.

He also delivered combat support communications to all branches of the military in theater across the globe.

Cruzen and his wife Shannon have two children, son Alister, and daughter Helena.
