MAJEWSKI WELCOMED AS NEW WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONER

on Tuesday for his first meeting representing
Precinct 4 as County Commissioner.
The Washington County Commissioners Court welcomed its newest member this (Tuesday) morning.
Dustin Majewski took his seat today as new Precinct 4 County Commissioner. For the past 24 years, that role belonged to Joy Fuchs, who chose not to run for re-election.
Majewski says Fuchs had a tremendous impact during her time in office, and he is eager to get to work to keep the county “moving in the right direction.”
Majewski is the co-owner of The Batter’s Box, Inc. in Brenham, an indoor training facility for baseball and softball. He opened the business in 2005 after an accolade-filled baseball career that included being drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 2003 and spending seven seasons in the minor leagues.
For Majewski, the strongest advice Fuchs gave him for serving on the court was to be independent and inquisitive.
The court’s meeting today served mostly as a warm-up for things to come, as there was only one non-routine action item for commissioners to consider. They approved a change to the rate paid to Brannon Industrial Group for providing labor during the county days of the annual spring cleanup event. The new rate is $4,125, an increase of $825 over 2022’s rate.
