Alfredo Garza (Grimes Co. Jail)

A Grimes County Grand Jury has returned murder indictments against two Bedias men in the drive-by shooting of a Navasota High School student.

19-year-old Alfredo Garza and 20-year-old Eric Damian Segovia were each indicted on a first-degree felony charge for Murder and a first-degree felony charge of Aggravated Assault-Severe Bodily Injury from a Vehicle.

The charges are in connection with the death of 18-year-old Anthony Demilo Williams on October 14, 2021.

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office responded to Leon Street and Sycamore Street in Bedias around 11pm that evening for a report of multiple gunshots fired and at least one gunshot victim.

The victim, Williams, was first taken to a medical station a few blocks away, and later transported to the St. Joseph’s Emergency Room in Madisonville, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Eric Damian Segovia (Grimes Co. Jail)

Garza and Segovia were arrested four days later.  They were initially charged with a state jail felony for Criminal Mischief and a third-degree felony for Deadly Conduct-Discharge of a Firearm.

Garza was also charged with a Class A Misdemeanor for Harboring a Runaway Child and a Class B Misdemeanor for Possession of Marijuana.

Both suspects are going to be arraigned in District Court and later scheduled for trial.
