A man has been charged with first degree murder in the death of his wife after she was found decapitated at their home in Waller County.

The Waller County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Jared James Dicus confessed to killing 21-year-old Anggy Diaz.

Deputies responded just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to a home in the 200 block of Oak Hollow Boulevard, west of Magnolia.  When they arrived, they discovered Diaz’ body in a small residential structure located behind the main residence.  Investigators said the home was covered in blood.

Sheriff Troy Guidry said it appears a kitchen knife was used to partially dismember the body and called the scene “gruesome.”

Dicus and Diaz got married in October 2022 and were living behind Dicus’ parent’s home.

Dicus is being held on $500,000 bond.  A motive is not known at this time.

Diaz’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to assist with her funeral expenses.
