LOCAL, AREA HOUSE REPS RECEIVE COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan on Wednesday announced committee appointments for the 88th Legislative Session.
District 12 Representative Kyle Kacal, whose new district covers Washington, Brazos, Grimes, Madison, Robertson and Walker counties, will serve on the natural resources committee and act as the vice-chair for the corrections committee.
Stan Gerdes, representing Burleson, Lee, Bastrop, Caldwell and Milam counties for District 17, will be a member of the county affairs, energy resources, and resolutions calendars committees.
District 85 Representative Stan Kitzman, serving Austin, Colorado, Fayette, Waller and Wharton counties, was named to the agriculture and livestock, natural resources, and resolutions calendars committees.
There are a total of 34 standing committees for representative appointments.
Kacal has begun his sixth term as a House representative, while these are the first terms for Gerdes and Kitzman.
