THREE BRENHAM CUBS MAKE TSWA 5A ALL STATE FOOTBALL TEAM

Logan Marshall (Rebecca Marshall)

The Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association has released the Class 5A All State Football Team, and the Brenham Cubs placed three members on it.

OL Logan Marshall was named Third Team All State, while QB Rylan Wooten and LB Ricky Brown were named Honorable Mention All State.

Marshall made the move from Center to Guard this season, and helped to lead the Cub Offensive Line, which helped Wooten become the first Brenham quarterback to rush for 1,000 yards and pass for 2,000 yards in school history.

Rylan Wooten (Mark Whitehead)

Wooten finished the season completed 163 of 298 passing attempts for 2,348 yards, and 27 touchdowns to only four interceptions. He also ran the ball 240 times for 1,374 yards, and 16 touchdowns.

Ricky Brown (Mark Whitehead)

Ricky Brown led the Cub defense with 96 tackles on the season.

1st Team: OL Cody Clough (A&M Consolidated), RB Tyvonn Byars (Lake Creek), RB Ayden Martinez-Brown (College Station)

2nd Team: LB Harrison Robinson (College Station), DB Tony Hamilton (College Station)

3rd Team: K Mo Foketi (A&M Consolidated), DL Korbin Johnson (College Station), DB A.J. Tisdell (College Station), KR Sam Lee (Lake Creek)

Honorable Mention: OL Aiden Kaplen (Lake Creek), FB Cason Pustka (Lake Creek), and LB Chase Brown (Lake Creek)

  1. Brenham did really well, they will have a great season. On another note: Lake Creek’s Tyvonn Byars (sophomore) made Texas’ Offensive Player of the Year too!
