CUBETTES LOSE TO LEANDER ON DAY TWO 8-2
The Brenham Cubettes got off to a rough start on day two of the Dripping Springs Tournament as they lost to Leander 8-2 this (Friday) morning.
In the bottom of the first inning, Halle Scheel walked, stole second, and then scored on an RBI single by Kaylyn Rodriguez to give the Cubettes an early 1-0 lead.
In the bottom of the second inning, Sarah Mabie drew a leadoff walk. Nevaeh Holmes came in to pinch-run, and stole second base. She then scored on an RBI single by Kinley Antkowiak to put Brenham ahead 2-0.
Leander took the lead with three runs in the third, and then blew the game open with five more runs in the top of the sixth. Three Cubette fielding errors factored into the runs.
Starting pitcher Della Jasinski suffered her first loss of the season. Jasinski went six innings, allowing eight runs, only three were earned, seven hits, three walks, and eight strikeouts.
The Cubettes are back in action this (Friday) afternoon against Dripping Springs at 1pm.
