FARM BUREAU PARTICIPATES IN TEXAS FOOD APPRECIATION DAY
Farm Bureaus across the state and nation participated in Texas Food Connection Day.
The Washington County Farm Bureau had two Food Connection Day events. The first event was to present a check to the Brenham Bread Partners for $300.
They also had a separate event hosted by Brookshire Brothers in Brenham, where they donated six gift cards and visited with shoppers.
The Farm Bureau was represented by Board President Larry Winklemann and board members Linda Oberhoff and Russell Borgstedte.
Texas Food Connection Day was established to connect farmers with their customers, and to spur conversations about agriculture, and food related issues.
According to the Washington County Farm Bureau, customers care about their food and how it’s grown. Texas farmers and ranchers want customers to know they’re listening, and want to hear their questions.
Winklemann said that without customers, farmers and ranchers have no markets, without farmers and ranchers, customers face bare shelves.
