BRAZOS COUNTY YOUTH LIVESTOCK SHOW STARTS MARCH 18

  

The annual Brazos County Youth Livestock Show is coming to the Brazos Valley later this month. 

The festivities begin on Saturday, March 18, at the Brazos County Expo Center in Bryan with the Queen’s Dance from 8pm-midnight. At 9pm, they will hold the Queen’s crowning ceremony.  They are also scheduled that evening to announce the scholarship recipients and have the Junior Director recognition.

On Sunday, March 19, the commercial steers are scheduled to arrive at the Brazos Valley Livestock Commission by 3pm.

The Family and Consumer Science Judging and Awards Presentation highlight the day on Monday, March 20.

The Commercial Steer Premium Auction is being held on Tuesday, March 21, at noon. That will be followed by the Lamb Show at 6pm and the Goat Show at 7pm.

On Wednesday, March 22, the Rabbit Show will be at 10am, followed later in the day by the Ag Mechanics Awards at 5pm, and the Market Barrow Show at 6pm.

The shows on Thursday, March 23, include the Turkeys at 8:30am, the Broilers at 9am, the Breeding Heifers at 6pm, and the Market Steers at 7pm.

Then, the Livestock Judging Contest is scheduled to begin at 9am on Friday, March 24.

Registration for the contest is on-line only, and can be done by going to www.judgingcard.com. The cost is $10 per individual or $40 per team until March 17.  From March 18-22, the cost goes up to $15 per individual, or $60 per team.

The Youth Livestock Show closes on Saturday, March 25, with a Buyer’s Lunch at 11am, and the Premium Auction at 1pm.
